Inspect the cause before replacing parts
A loose board can be a local repair. Several leaning posts, recurring gate sag or widespread deterioration may point to a supporting-system problem. Look at posts, rails, fixings and gate alignment rather than judging the fence only by its visible finish.
Compare a repair list with a complete replacement list. Include access, removal of failed footings, matching replacement components and finishing work. Older panel systems may have limited compatible parts. Replacing a panel without correcting its support can leave the same fault unresolved.
Record photographs and isolate the affected runs in the planner. Use repair quantities only for those runs, then add unavoidable labour or delivery minimums. Seek an on-site assessment for unstable structures. The calculator estimates materials and cannot diagnose hidden decay, foundations or load resistance.
