Costs

Start with quantities, then attach prices. Height, privacy level and product specification affect material costs. Gate width and hardware can change the supporting posts and installation work. Delivery, minimum labour charges and site access can matter even when fence length is unchanged.

Ask how excavation, roots, existing footings, slopes and waste disposal are priced. Keep removal separate from new installation. Identify taxes, permit fees and any work excluded from the quote. A single per-metre rate is useful only when its included scope is explicit.

Fence removal: what adds to the budget?

Record the existing length, material and post positions. Note whether posts are concreted in and whether access permits machinery or only manual work. A fence attached to a wall or shared with a neighbor may require a different removal sequence and agreement.
