Each segment starts at the previous endpoint. Gate start and width are distances between post centers; enter zero width for no gate. 0° points right and 90° points up. A closed loop must end at its starting point. The start coordinates apply only when New start is selected.
Formula
Σ = (M + L + D + O) × (1 + C/100) × (1 + T/100)
Separate the cost drivers
Start with quantities, then attach prices. Height, privacy level and product specification affect material costs. Gate width and hardware can change the supporting posts and installation work. Delivery, minimum labour charges and site access can matter even when fence length is unchanged.
Ask how excavation, roots, existing footings, slopes and waste disposal are priced. Keep removal separate from new installation. Identify taxes, permit fees and any work excluded from the quote. A single per-metre rate is useful only when its included scope is explicit.
In the cost calculator, enter current prices in one currency. Labour is applied to fenced length excluding openings; removal is applied to the whole route length. Adjust these inputs if your contractor uses a different basis. Other costs, contingency and tax are shown separately so assumptions stay visible.
This is a materials estimate, not a structural design. Gate frame boards and hardware are separate. Follow the product label. Yield and coverage are editable.
