Wood permits custom cuts and individual board replacement. Its finish needs a maintenance plan suited to the product and exposure. Vinyl does not require wood stain, but cleaning, compatible replacement components and gate adjustments still matter. Check each warranty for exclusions and installation requirements.
Create one layout, then enter separate wood and panel prices. Keep labour, disposal and gates visible rather than folding everything into a per-metre headline. For a future budget, choose your own inspection and refinishing schedule instead of assuming a universal lifespan or savings figure.
