Reserve the operating space
A swing gate needs room for its arc and ground clearance across that arc. A sliding gate needs space alongside the opening, plus the required track or cantilever arrangement. Compare the clear usable opening rather than just leaf dimensions.
Record the slope, parking positions, pedestrian route and support requirements. A double-leaf swing gate divides the opening between leaves but still needs coordinated closing hardware. A sliding gate does not remove the need to check the supporting structure.
Our top-down tool establishes the opening and fence quantities. It does not design gate supports or automation. Discuss the layout with the supplier and check applicable local requirements for powered gates before selecting an operator.
